My husband imaged the Sun today and there is a lot going on.

A moment of summer beauty for your timeline.

Tonight's Moon was too lovely to miss even if a skunk insisted on interrupting my astrophotography.

What a beautiful day for flying radio-controlled gliders!

34.1°C in the shade on our front porch. 😱

My husband's image of the Sun today. Lunt 60mm, double stacked, h-alpha telescope. Image is a stack of shorter exposures.

Tonight. Cellphone image, quickly processed with a generic photo app.
Breathtaking view of Jupiter and the crescent Moon. ❤️ #HamOnt

I needed this view today and mother nature and my garden delivered!❤️

I'm so glad I made the effort to plant spring bulbs years ago. They've repaid that effort every year with this breathtaking view.❤️

This made me smile when I saw it in my garden just now. I hope it makes you smile too.

Such a pleasure to build a beautiful aircraft and then watch it soar like a bird.❤️

Our RC glider club had our first meeting of 2025 today and it was great!

One of our pollinator gardens, asleep for the winter. We've seen birds & mice eating seeds from the plants. Mourning doves sleep on the ground under the dried plant stems. There are native bees & wasps hibernating in the ground and inside hollow stems. It's a treasure!

All this talk of native plants has me pining for spring. We have been changing our gardens over to mostly native flowers. (You'll have to pry my butterfly bush from my cold, dead hands! Lol)
Our spotted bee balm is a favourite of giant black digger wasps.

Who knew you could find inspiration on the side of an indoor plant pot? It followed me home.

Always a treat to see the Moon. 😍

A badly framed image of the Orion nebula taken under a full Moon. Seestar S50, stack of 10 second exposures, total exposure time of 20minutes.
December 14, 2024 at 4:24 AM
I installed the new firmware & software for my Seestar S50. I successfully imaged the nearly full Moon tonight, but could not get the telescope to image any deepsky objects. I will spend the rest of this rare clear night solving the issue. 🤬

It's unusual to still have plants blooming in our garden (Hamilton, ON) in mid-November!

The Moon tonight.

My local astronomy club had a star party this past weekend at a dark site near the Bruce Peninsula. Saturday night was gloriously clear and I snapped this photo of the Milky Way with a Canon 5D DSLR & 14mm lens on a tripod.
