Just an opinion but I believe it’s choice born of weakness Putin can so readily flatter, threaten, offer him the gold and baubles he craves I question whether this has not been going on for many years

Childish beyond words. If it was happening in the school yard teachers would call in parents to talk about bullying. In most organisations this sort of threatening behaviour gets called out and disciplinary action taken. It is beyond belief that this is being tolerated

The problem is that he is quite willingly going to go down the same path as Putin. He wants to and he is already surrounded by people who also want this and know that there is no way back. They will literally fight and kill to sustain power
