Good morning 😊
Off yesterday in the mist and drizzle to Exeter.
Bratwurst and Gluewein in the Xmas market and then the soaring magnificence of the fan vaulting in Exeter cathedral;where they now have a splendid new tea room and shop in the cloisters.Lots of pale polished oak and ancient stone.

On our visit to Totnes yesterday
We visited the Elizabethan museum.
Housed in a 15 th century building,
It featured Tudor labour making
Equipment.
Firstly,Ye olde washing machine and then ye pumpe,a cauldron for boiling water and finally a drying rack.
Happy days in merrie England.🤣

Good Morning.
Went to Totnes yesterday for the Xmas market.
My favourite town in south Devon.Full of medieval buildings and interesting individual shops.
A long high st rises gradually to the Norman Motte and Bailey castle. As dusk fell, lamps and fairy lights lit up a happy, convivial scene.

Good morning,
Calm and grey after a tumultuous weekend.
Going to the Xmas market at Totnes today.😊
Despite the destruction in the garden it’s nice to see clematis
Cirrhosa in flower.
If it’s still flowering at Xmas I may use some in a table decoration.
Have a good day everyone.😊

A very wild and windy day following an equally stormy night. We’ve got a huge ash tree down and we haven’t even finished clearing up the oak that collapsed a few weeks ago.
Still, looking on the bright side won’t be short of logs.🥲😬😂
This is the fallen red oak.

Good morning.
Rather gloomy but mild.
Time to lighten up a bit.

I bought my ‘allium’light a few years ago as a Xmas decoration and it’s stayed up ever since.🤣
Amazing longevity.I think you can buy them from Sarah Raven now.

Happy Advent.😊

Good Morning.Cold and grey so time for some winter colour.
Shop bought flowers can be quite expensive but will last for about ten days with care.😊

Good morning, sunny and dry so far.
With the world in such a mess we can escape into a good book.
I’ve just re read the exuberant Still Life by Sarah Winman.
It’s an ode to love, art and poetry, with witty dialogue and interestingcharacters, not least the city of Florence and Claude.
The parrot😊

Good morning.
Calm and bright after the storm.

Trifle for pudding last night.😊
Sponge fingers liberally doused in Sherry or raspberry liquer.
Custard
Cream or half cream and mascarpone.
Crystallised violets for texture.
Only add violets when ready to serve as they start to melt.
Simple/delicious .

Good afternoon.
After a wild night in Devon with
No electricity and a howling gale,it’s finally stopped raining.
Much warmer though.

To celebrate,a Victoria Sponge.
Felicity Cloakes recipe, sandwiched with her lovely buttercream (you add double cream to it)and jam.

Good morning, and a very wet one indeed.
Everything in the garden a soggy mess but a few flowers always brightens things up.
Roses and tulips seem an odd mix somehow but at £3 a bunch from the Co-Op seem like a good idea.😊

Good morning.
Sunny but pretty cold in south Devon.

Just to say that in Morocco you should always look up.Amazing
Ceiling in the museum of Marrakesh.

A very wet day yesterday so ideal for making a Xmas cake.
I’ve used this Arabella Boxer recipe for years.
Moist and full of fruit.
Will be ‘fed’ with brandy weekly
and lovely by Xmas.

Good morning.
No blue sky in Devon today.
Cold and wet.

A day for a good book.
I’m just re reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt.
She has only written three novels with ten years between each but I think this, her first ,is the best.
Highly recommended if you haven’t read it already.
