No Kings Day in red Waukesha County WI. We had 5,000 in the city of Waukesha and huge crowds all over Southeastern WI. That's me with Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez who's a candidate for governor.

"It’s a club for senators, for congresspeople and for people in Washington,” Trump told lawmakers gathered in the overhauled White House Rose Garden.

So, it's not "The People's House" any longer? Taking suggestions for a new name. Mar-a-Lago on the Potomac?

Basic American Government tenet drilled into students' heads starting no later than middle school: "The president proposes, Congress disposes." Has this president proposed anything? I tried Googling but besides the budget bill, all I saw were links about his executive orders.

Every day, a fresh hell. The most recent post of a public portion of Trump's sycophantic "Cabinet meeting" demonstrates they're Trump first, America somewhere far down the list. How will they have any credibility after having served Jabba the Hutt? Blech. 🤑

So Trump says nations have been calling to "kiss my ass" over the tariffs. I'd been thinking the tariffs sounded more like a gangster going from bodega to bodega, shaking them down for protection money. I guess I was right.

In today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Sen. Ron Johnson said conservative Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel would have lost to progressive winning candidate Susan Crawford by an even bigger margin than 10% had not Elon Musk been involved with his $20m and showmanship.

RJ: that's my Senator. 🤪

תני תנא קמיה דרב נחמן בר יצחק: כל המלבין פני חבירו ברבים כאילו שופך דמים.

One who embarrasses another in public, it is as if that person shed blood.

-- Babylonian Talmud, Baba Mezia 58b

Let Trump and Vance remember that ancient teaching. It's a value we can all learn from.

I'm as eager for an end to Hamas's control of Gaza and peace there as anyone. But Trump's proposal to clear out all the people there and do what he wants is analogous to his hero Andrew Jackson's "Trail of Tears" policy. We know how well that turned out for everyone.

I've noticed several hosts and guests on MSNBC wearing funeral-type outfits. As for the service at the National Cathedral, I have no words for Trump's reaction, given to the press: "I didn't find it exciting, did you?"

Happy New Year to all! It's going to be a challenging time (euphemism for 'pain in the ass'). So I offer these words from Jewish tradition: "Chazak v'amatz, v'amatz chazak: Let us be strong and strengthen each other." We're going to need that kind of solidarity.

Chanukah candles glowing in my temple's sanctuary for the third night of the holiday. Wh had a good crowd for the Shabbat service with music by our wonderful cantor and the ensemble, "A Band in All Hope".

Now that Zuck seems to have bent his knee to Trump, I'm close to shuttering my Threads, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. Is it clear what came from that meeting? Did Zuck agree to anything?

Noob here. I'd appreciate knowing how this platform differs from Threads. I've been there for a while (I never posted on Twitter) but am losing interest. Maybe it was the sturm und drang surrounding the election, but I thought I'd take a look here. Thank you for responding.
