I was always intrigued by psychology even though I was an engineering major. Twenty some years later, and I'm a professor of engineering with bipolar disorder who advocates on campus for better mental health for faculty and students. Boom.

Heck yeah. I rewrote it for a different audience and published it. After years of self-doubt, I earned tenure at the University of Michigan :)

My horror story is that I once had a manuscript under review for two years. And then it was rejected. That was before journals had timelines.
