Politicians who focus on fear & criticism rather than concrete solutions, like this analogy or figures such as Priti Patel, can stoke division w/out addressing the practical or moral complexities they claim to solve. This grabs attention, but fails to deliver meaningful, evidence-based outcomes.

The IMF is not inherently evil, but it’s a tool of the global financial system. Its policies are designed to stabilise debt & markets, not necessarily to protect ordinary people. Some call it 'not a force for good' is a fair criticism: governments & creditors benefit more than citizens.

In today’s Britain, the system often punishes those who act with conscience/courage while turning a blind eye to complicity/violence. Peaceful protest can lead to arrests, yet those who engage in harmful actions can escape any scrutiny, exposing a stark contradiction at the heart of authority.

US military interventions & there are many, are almost always justified with a simple, emotionally compelling reason: human rights, a drug war, an imminent threat. Later evidence often reveals the true drivers: strategic, political or resource-based.

Some very sharp, necessary questions need to be asked to get to the bottom of why the Military Police weren’t initially involved. The questions are less about blame in isolation & more about systemic failures, why rules weren’t followed, who allowed them to be bypassed & how the culture contributed.

One foot is already in an idiocracy where politics is performative, media rewards stupidity & expertise is sidelined but the other foot still stands in a functioning democracy with strong competence. The danger isn’t stupidity, it's the noise distracting people while the powerful quietly take over.
