As well put by Jason A. Schwartz and Peter H. Howard:

Ignoring the costs of #ClimateChange won’t make them magically disappear; it only guarantees they’ll be even higher for the next generation.

Trump’s magical thinking on climate change is just political smoke and mirrors
The Trump administration is trying to pull that same old rabbit out of a hat to conceal the real costs of environmental deregulation.

As Paris has restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes, the air has finally become breathable.

This is a what a win-win looks like. Drastic reduction in #AirPollution is good for people's #health and #wellbeing, and thus for #society and #economy at large.

As European leaders note on US tariffs:
There are no winners in a trade war, these will have negative impact on global economy and damage the transatlantic bond.

Here I react to the shameful encounter between American leaders and media and the Ukrainian president. No doubt there were more, but I saw five failures on our side: of hospitality, decency, democracy, strategy, and independence. Please watch and share.

3 years
Russia has been massacring civilians at the heart of Europe. Destroying cities. Bombing homes. Mining playgrounds. Kidnapping+torturing people. Forcing Ukrainians to become refugees.

Russia must pay for these crimes.

Ukraine deserves a just peace, independence and a safe future in Europe.

Europe has been in an utter shock the last week. But perhaps the greatest shock of all is that it didn't use the past years to prepare itself.

This cartoon is not from today, but from 2018...

The way things are going, Trump will be responsible for escalating bloodshed, possibly into European/open global conflict.

He is doing what Russia wants: repeating Russian talking points +destroying instruments of US power.

This is how democracies decay—not through dramatic coups, but through the slow erosion of moral courage among those entrusted with power.

Thank you @adamkinzinger.bsky.social for putting in words what's at stake.
Sure, there are occasional moments of resistance from senators not facing reelection, but they are fleeting and ultimately meaningless if those same individuals fold when the stakes are high. My latest

Trump has just officially become the plastic president and micro(plastic) manager, and shown where his priorities lie.

But this doesn't take away consumers' power to say 'no' to single-use plastic.

And luckily many US states, counties and cities continue to act on #PlasticPollution.

I must admit: I'm not a huge American football fan. It just seems so aggressive...

But as the US is warming up for the big #superbowl game, these warming trends for the matchup + every #NFL team’s home city caught my attention:

Football season is warming up in every NFL city. The teams’ home cities are also experiencing more risky heat extremes in the lead-up to the regular season.

EU has just adopted new rules to address #PlasticPollution + reduce #SingleUsePlastic packaging.

EU countries, companies + other stakeholders have now 18 months to prepare for the application of new rules.

Even in the absence of a global #PlasticsTreaty, it is possible to act on plastic pollution.
