This paragraph will haunt me. She was saving money to get braces. BRACES.

Well this is adorable:

Vladdy is shown wearing Marie-Philip Poulin's game-worn Team Canada Sweater. Poulin, known as "Captain Clutch," led has led Team Canada to 3 gold medals (She's also the captain of the Montreal Victoire, so there's a little hometown pride in there, too)

If you're in London or plan on visiting in the next few months, go see the Design & Disability exhibit at the V&A--it's absolutely phenomenal. The thought that went into it--from the tactile map and texture markers to its expansive understanding of what counts as design--is everywhere apparent.

I'm from SF and spent 9 years in Chicago. Both cities have experienced their share of wildly overblown (if not outright false) panics about open-air drug markets, doom loops, rampant crime, etc. But Trump *really* doesn't want to f*ck with Chicago.

Below: the "killing fields" of SF and Chicago

I did not realize it was possible to get this many mosquito bites. I ITCH.

A little printing class project inspired by a conversation on the old site with Rebecca Cokley (will update next week on how it turns out).

Is your cat, perchance, a Siberian, because mine adopts many of the same boneless poses

Coming soon to an open access APSR near you:

(all kidding aside, I'm so happy to see this piece out in the world)

The Senate is currently debating a bill that would, if passed, result in over 11 million Americans losing health insurance. Meanwhile, the NYT:

(When pressed as to why he’s granting this idea legitimacy, the author defends his decision by noting that that idea has “reached the halls of Congress”)

Forgive me, Jonathan, but what hesitancy?

in case you’re wondering, this is theo, so you can see why I had doubts about his hunting prowess. Had doubts. Past tense.

I am knee deep in grading, the weather is gorgeous, the news is terrible, and Theo continues to lounge, unbothered:

“You can visit them if you're interested in adding a couple of strategic advisors to your life! Kittens must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another social cat to prevent issues with power and aggression”

(Please know this email has made my day, nay, my week)

The “renown” contributors are everyone you’d expect: Peterson, Wax, Ferguson, Saad, Pinker, etc

It appears Harvard is (thankfully) pushing back against the Trump administration's demands. below is a screen cap of part of President Garber's letter along with their lawyers' response.

Have I finished my feminist theory syllabus? No. Have I addressed my increasingly terrifying inbox? Also no. But I have finished this bird puzzle (with cat accompaniment). Please clap. The cat certainly wont.

I am back in SF for the first time in a year. The bridge is still singing, we’re getting tornado warnings, and the cat has fully installed himself as my parents’ replacement grandchild.

The seriousness of his expression is belied by the ridiculousness of his pose

Oh he is all personality. Not an ounce of grace or dignity:

I immediately thought of Stevie. Glad Leah beat me to it. I'm only tangentially law, but here's Theo (also not a dog)

Excited to see so many folks migrating from x to here. I’ll likely be dormant for a bit, but welcome. And because we all need a little levity, here is my ridiculous cat (Theodore).

“I have a son…so it’s not important” is such a stunning statement.

On the one hand, good for Linda for voting for the amendment, but the refusal to see reproductive rights as anything but a (young) women’s issue is how we ended up in this mess.
