Definitely a sofa day today & time to finish this fascinating book on Windrush Cricket by Michael Collins. West Indian cricketers & The Ace programme as well as Haringey Cricket College are all given the space they deserve. Well researched & told.

With the proviso that I’m always wrong - predictions for The Ashes
3-2 to Aus. No draws.
2 of our bowlers sent home with injuries. Oz losing 1 of theirs.
Centuries - Eng 4 Aus 7.
Six 5-fors on both sides. Little spin.
1 face to face row on the pitch & countless vitriolic headlines.
Little sleep!

That’s 10 overseas ODIs lost in a row… #NZvENG
I guess just maybe our players should get some 50 over practice or choose players that have? Because it either matters or what’s the point? 😬

I’m not sure the new regime is working - international cricket isn’t (and shouldn’t be) all about The Ashes.
Nine overseas losses in a row should be telling those in charge something shouldn’t it?

Most exciting thing yesterday - I met one of the nicest men in cricket - Chris Woakes.
I didn’t win the book award but it was great to be on the shortlist & Leo McKinstry’s book is a worthy winner 🥇
Thank you for a lovely day @CricketMediaUK 👏
