Possibly? Who knows. If anything, this decision showed us that week by week rankings don't actually mean sh*t, and ultimately, it's all just at the whim of the selection committee. 🤷‍♀️

Oh no, I agree with you that Nebraska was 55/45, for sure. I'm just saying I think it's a false equivalency here, and even if some ND players voted in favor of the bowl game, I doubt it even came close to that ratio.

I'll concede guaranteeing that not a single player wanted this. But I'm guessing it wasn't 55/45

Sure... but they were voting on whether or not to play during a pandemic, when most conservatives - many of whom lived in a place like Nebraska - thought the severity was overblown. This is a team that feels slighted and likely doesn't want the slighters to make money off their consolation game.

Not to mention - even though Notre Dame isn't saying this outright - they have a national audience that would generate huge revenue in ticket sales and viewership. Why make money for the system that screwed you over (and also... friggin Pop Tarts 😅)? Kudos to ND for this one.

They had their senior game in their home stadium where they absolutely trounced Pitt. I think that's a damn good send off. I doubt there's a single player in South Bend who's sad about this decision, IMHO

Granted, this is if we take everything Bin Laden said at face value, which obviously, we should not.
December 5, 2025 at 10:57 PM
If anything, Bin Laden used our departure from Afghanistan to push the narrative that the Soviets were defeated by guerilla jihadists, and any other superpower, including the US, could be as well.
December 5, 2025 at 10:56 PM
the US support of Israel and Saudi Arabia, the Iraq war and subsequent sanctions, and the US military presence in the Middle East. I quibble with the notion that Al Qaeda felt abandoned.
December 5, 2025 at 10:56 PM
This was part of Bin Laden's ideological messaging in speeches (i.e., the US wasn't a noble ally but motivated by self interest and only supported the Mujahideen as a Cold War tactic vs. the Soviets), but the reasons for 9/11 that Bin Laden specifically cited in his Letter to America were primarily

LOL buy me a drink before you talk that sexy.

He's a week away from announcing the return of "the way back" seats.
December 4, 2025 at 8:40 PM
This guy literally has no idea what amicability looks like, so he always opts for the most bizarre imagery imaginable.
December 4, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Yup. This is literally why 9/11 happened.
December 4, 2025 at 8:36 PM
So his defense is basically, "they're only pissed because of the bad job we're doing."
December 4, 2025 at 8:33 PM
There is a good to fair chance that this man thinks the whole of the American economy is just stacks of money sitting on sheleves
December 4, 2025 at 4:52 PM
These guys are like a week away from bringing back the way back seats
December 4, 2025 at 4:43 PM
This is what I've been saying! Even for the most incompetent administration of all time, there's no effing way not a single person noticed this. It's got dog whistle written all over it.
December 4, 2025 at 1:45 PM
This is what I've been saying! Maybe it's cynical, but at the end of the day, college football is a business, and the committee is gonna need a really good reason to not give ND a playoff spot
