Their faith lets them worship power while they’re offended by mercy. It’s not Christianity they’re practicing.

It’s taken me a long time to realize that many religious people truly think their belief in a divine creator is what counts. They believe that the right thoughts will matter most. This has been shocking to realize. The divine (in whatever form it exits, if it exists) needs my actions, not belief.

I just learned that Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. An alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform (and yes it's really easy to transfer your lists from Goodreads to StoryGraph). You know, while we're moving things.

I don’t know how long this will last, but isn’t it nice knowing when you post something, you’re not going to get criticized and called every name in the book?
