But things are designed so they last just long enough that you don't go for another brand but outside of that as short as possible.
Still good after 1 to 5 years depending on the product but starting to fall apart and get annoying after that.

iPhones get a lot of focus for it but I think it's everything.
If things were designed to maximize reuse we'd have really nice durable technology you can kinda abuse and ignore and it keeps working. With modern technology.
