A nice surprise was that the chair of the design selection committee was the great Grady Clay! Sadly neglected in planning school curricula, his book Close Up is brilliant.

Back in paper map days cartographers put intentional errors (aka Easter eggs) in nonessential spots so they could prove a map was republished w/o permission. Example: I had an Oregon hwy map with 2 towns just over the California border flipped so they were on the wrong hwys. 🤷

I don't know, but something is different with ironing. I recently stayed in a Hyatt hotel and for the first time in ages, there was no iron in the room. If you wanted one, you had to request it from front desk. 🤷

A 10 minute walk to the National Building Museum--the best museum gift shop, hands down. Lots of great kids stuff. Closed Tues and Wed though. nbm.org
