As always: write to your MP to demand action. They won't even know we care otherwise.

Comme toujours : écrivez à votre député pour exiger des mesures. Sinon, ils ne sauront même pas que ça nous dérange.

It seems at this point the government is determined to "fix" our trade relationship to the US, i.e. move it back towards the old ideal of free trade. They have no concept of history, culture, sovereignty, human rights, or anything that isn't an economic KPI.

This is one of the forms annexation can take. Not an invasion, but slow integration and constant acquiescence from our own government that is desperate to "get a deal".

Write your MPs to demand they deny any US requests that arise from this bill. If they don't know we care, they won't care either.

Un détail ignoré par beaucoup des commentaires à ce sujet : Pete Hoekstra, l'ambassadeur américain au Canada, dit que l’élection canadienne était “me too” — reliant le mouvement #MeToo à l’anti-américanisme.

The border and our sovereign democratic government are probably also "irritants."

They're laying groundwork here, too. We have US billionaires, public figures, hatemongers, and influencers constantly wading into domestic Canadian policy-making and public debates, crafting themselves an image as allies and liberators versus Canada's own democratic institutions.

Whether it's Sean Feucht's cancellations or the ostrich farm cull, speaking out on socially provocative conflicts allow US interests to set themselves up as freedom-loving opponents of an "oppressive" Canadian government.

Excellent write-up. She is a serious threat and needs to be treated as such.
