Today, I pulled out a stack of clothing I’ve set aside over a period of months – a sweatshirt with a big hole in the elbow of one sleeve, sweatpants with a torn pocket, socks with holes.

My first book, Seasons of a Wild Life, was published last month. I have written all my life: college papers, thesis, dissertation, psych evaluations. But my book is different from my previous writings: it gave me the freedom to pick and choose and interweave areas I was deeply interested in.
