The houses are 15 minutes apart and this was in mobile phone times, so I was reachable.
After that, I refused to go back and forth and just alternated houses each year.

Christmas day. Divorced parents. I'm expected to go to both houses.
Planned to spend time at 1 before dinner, then head to 2 for scheduled dinner time.
Leave 1 as they sit down to eat and arrive at 2....as they're doing the dishes. Not one piece of prime rib left.
No dinner for me 🤬

The likelihood that it actually gets built feels very low for many reasons. Not the least of which are the inevitably unpaid contractors.

Yes, there are plenty who have embraced the racism, but empathy also means acknowledging they have been raised in a racist system and taught half-truths and lies from grade school, on. All the docs I've seen on changing minds have started from a place of empathy and shared understanding.
