Very cool very normal that a guy whose company admitted to perpetrating a bread price-fixing scheme is able to control all of these things

In conclusion, I hate Galen Weston

So I sent them a strongly-worded email. That’ll show them!!!

Then this morning I went to rebook at a different location and this SAME Loblaws is showing more appointments for today! Even though the woman had said they wouldn’t receive more vaccine for a couple of days. Clearly the system doesn’t update in real-time.

It was very annoying, especially since I’d had to walk 45 mins each way to the store, but it wasn’t that specific woman’s fault (I got the feeling they’d run out in the morning before I’d even booked, so my name wasn’t even on the list of people to call), so I sucked it up, thanked her, and left.

I’m at the very eastern tip of the Great Lakes and it’s currently snowing/freezing rain here, so definitely feeling that!

Make sure you tell them it’s been good to know them, too

I’ll probably go down to the lake and think about the Witch of November (it’s snowing out today and the lake is churning, so it feels very appropriate)

What can I say, his dad is a stud
November 8, 2025 at 8:39 AM
I would too, which is how he’s turned into the worst, most spoiled cat of all time
November 8, 2025 at 8:38 AM
Hahaha happy to oblige!!
November 8, 2025 at 6:55 AM
Heh, ok, ok, if you insist!
November 8, 2025 at 5:42 AM
Heh, this is very relatable

That’s a very good point! Better to use our time to see the things we really wanted to see (and not give in to my natural state of vacation panic). Siestas are a very smart idea.

I hope that someday we’ll go back and be able to see it all. This trip was such a small, delightful taste of it all.

But my tips are all like “go out and do an activity, then come back to your accommodation for 30-60 mins so that your kid can decompress while listening to music/texting friends. Ok great, now he’s decompressed and ready to see more historic sites!”

Nothing makes me lose respect for a podcast faster than if they’re promoting weight loss drugs and taking about “food noise”. I feel similarly about Better Help commercials. Stop it! Just let me enjoy your little stories in peace!!!

It’s funny because I’m a terrible flyer (I didn’t get on a plane for a whole decade because it terrified me), but I think I’m actually a pretty good traveller. Go figure!

(Also, sorry, I swear I’ll shut up about this trip by the end of the month)
