Last week I found out I was nominated for the Mayfield | Divot AI List on my way back from a panel at Startup Boston Week. 🎉

I remember wishing for moments like this when I first started learning about AI in 2017.

Growing up, my parents used to watch Masterpiece Mystery every Sunday on @pbs.org. I was really into the intro that included art from Edward Gorey.

Spent the last two days in Asheville at AI in Production, and this has become one of my favorite conferences. My favorite talks focused on the reality of AI agents (not the hype), and handling security around RAG. And I had a blast giving my talk Avoiding the Chatbot Trap. Excited for next year! 🎉

Day 1 of AI in Production giving my workshop Building Successful Products with AI! Excited for my talk tomorrow on Avoiding the Chatbot Trap.

This is one of the most fun and connected conferences I’ve ever been to! Having great convos with people here.

Soooo many reasons to stop this bill. Even if you aren’t on Medicare or Medicaid, those programs fund so much of our health system, hospitals and health centers near you that you use could close due to lack of funding.

Everyone expressing interest in buying TikTok last minute feels like how in rock paper scissors you don’t show your pick until the designated time and hope your pick beats whatever everyone else pick.

At such a critical time in this phase of AI, tariffs could really hurt AI in the US because the best chips come from TSMC in Taiwan. It takes a long time to build new chip foundries, and that amount of time gives others a lot of time to advance.

I've seen in several internet hot takes a myth that "there's no competitive advantage when AI can easily copy your product and features." I dive into this in my Substack today. Link in next tweet/post.

Great chat with @yanaw.bsky.social , founder and CEO of @kraftful.bsky.social about managing the probabilistic nature of AI in product. Loved her insights on breaking down complex tasks and running smart evals to maintain consistency as models evolve. The future of product looks fascinating.🚀

I also talk about how to use AI to write Jira tickets. Prompt included at the bottom of the article. Happy Friday!

A lot of PM hot takes lately are announcing the death of the PRD. 1. In many companies you still need a tool to explain the why behind your prototyping decisions. 2. The PRD contains key goals and strategy about the feature, so you should write it yourself.

Brought this scarf to Machu Picchu that came with a chocolate gift my product coach got me for Christmas. I told her I would bring it and take a picture to represent how far I’ve come in my growth in parallel how far I had to go to reach Machu Picchu.

The PM-Engin relationship is headed for a massive shift. Chatted with Stephen Weber (Director of Engin @ AI startup) about how AI tools are already changing our roles, and what o3 might mean for how we work together. Some predictions and lots of uncertainties. Link in next post.

1. I had no idea this is why the feud started.

2. I have a theory Mark is shifting his public persona to align with those that get into the inner circle of you know who since his enemy is in that circle and could convince him to do unfavorable things that hurt Meta.

Jumpstart Your AI Career is back on @oreilly.bsky.social Feb 24.

I'm adding more information to the GenAI section of the course, and sharing more about how agents work. I'm also sharing what tech professionals should be doing today to prepare themselves for how their jobs will change.

3/ In the Substack video, you can also see that probabilistic tools don't always give you the same output. (excuse the broken charts). If you click into the Substack, I share the living prototype of my favorite one at the bottom of the article.

1/ This week in AI for Product Discovery, I show how to iterate on an existing product. I used V0 to imagine a different dashboard feature for Substack that explains to authors patterns in their most successful content. (disclaimer in the next post)
