I lived through a coup and its aftermath. The assault on democratic norms and institutions underway in the US goes far beyond what I witnessed. Yet, nothing in legacy media begins to convey the spiraling democratic crisis.

Here's the linked op-ed by the interviewee and passage where she calls for common ground with RFK. I think she offers important insights drawn from experience; however, I think she misunderstands the political economy and misses the mark entirely on the way forward.

I have had the privilege of working with communities globally and in the US, including in rural northern New England, for more than two decades. One thing that I've learned is that communities do not want "experts" to rationalize double standards in healthcare or downplay risks to their health. 1/
