I don't think people comprehend how badly Jamaica is about to be hit, Kingston in particular.

It feels like every year it’s the new normal to have at least one catastrophic hurricane that changes a community forever. This year that storm will be Melissa. This will be a deadly and historic hurricane strike for Jamaica — which has never experienced a Category 5 hurricane. Its slow movement is a worst case scenario for Jamaica. This means multiple days of damaging hurricane force winds & heavy rain. The result will be catastrophic flooding and numerous mudslides. Roads & bridges washed away by the flooding will isolate communities for long periods of time. The core of destructive winds will cause extensive damage to infrastructure — which means long duration power outages and communications failure across the island. Additionally, life threatening storm surge will cause further destruction along the coast when Melissa makes landfall Monday night into Tuesday morning. Kingston is particularly at risk being on the southern facing side of the island. On a human level, my heart hurts for the people of Jamaica because I know what’s coming. I’ve seen this first hand with Katrina and Ian. Both storms, especially Ian scared me for life and really changed my perspective of these deadly storms. These are real people and their communities, homes, schools, businesses, memories are going to be changed forever. Our friends in Jamaica will need all the humanitarian help they can get once Melissa has moved away. If a local organization is bringing food & water down there don’t hesitate to donate. I will be. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jamaica. Check back here for frequent updates on Melissa.

I have to say, I agree with the author's take, as far as a solution. Do not work with this firm. I mean, with numbers like these...why would you?
Mothership allegedly has a political efficiency rate of ~1.6% of funds reaching candidates. Miserably bad, in other words.

These are the lessons centrist Democrats in purple areas could stand to learn. Both the electorate and the media environment are changing quickly, and Democrats need to adapt to a new way of doing business.

The Medium logo was done by a vendor, as far as I can tell (I am not going to name and shame them here, I'm not a jerk, and people can do their own research). Apparently this one gets re-used a lot, though.

There's this really cool resource called Logo Archive, that I've become familiar with via its Substack.

Today I saw, in passing, a Rei Yoshimura logo for Japan Tobacco Inc., circa 1975. And it looked familiar! Why?

Because it was used for a different platform, more recently (but flipped).

Interesting article in Tablet Magazine: surveys have long concluded that educated people are less anti-semitic, but it's likely that they've learned to game surveys (ie, to lie). I assume that the same applies to levels of racism and misogyny among educated people. www.tabletmag.com/sections/new...
A large problem with this widely held belief—which has dominated the American Jewish community’s approach to combatting hatred since the days of Louis Brandeis—is that it depends on survey questions that probably fail to capture anti-Semitism among the well-educated. For the most part, these studies measure anti-Semitism simply by asking respondents how they feel about Jews, or by asking whether they agree with blatantly anti-Semitic stereotypes. But educated people, being experienced test takers, know these to be “wrong” answers.
