I’m disappointed the CNCF keeps picking deep red states for #KubeCon. It’s unsafe for so many community members. Why not Canada or Mexico?

FACT: @edera.dev's container startup time beats Apple's Container system by about 100ms on equivalent. AND we can likely do even better.

In some cases, Edera can launch containers faster than Docker due to how we handle container images.

With this Apple Container Framework stuff, I need to clarify something that I see confusing a lot of people:

In Docker Desktop/colima/lima/Rancher Desktop today a single VM runs all of your containers.

With Apple Container Framework, each container is it's own VM.

Edera's CEO Emily Long with thoughts on Pride Month and why it's important, especially now. "We truly believe representing and celebrating these differences is a super power at Edera."
Pride Month feels very different this year. Last year we were talking about ensuring Edera’s authenticity showed up past a rainbow logo, now it feels eerily quiet on social media and in the corporate / tech scene as we talk through how best to celebrate and bring awareness to Pride - something deeply rooted into Edera’s very existence during a time where merely saying the letters LGBTQ+ can be deemed “political.” I’ve spoken with several people across different companies, large F500 to start-ups, all with a similar theme. Pride Month, if it is being celebrated or acknowledged within a company at all this year, has turned primarily internal. And even those initiatives are highly scrutinized. Those companies who used to participate in Pride parades, non-profit donations, or even the performative rainbow logos have gotten smaller, or gone silent. Growing up in HR and being a co-lead of the Pride Network at KPMG, I was taught that being an ally was to show up for people different from you. To take time to understand how hard it can be to have to change who you are to conform. To have to think about everything you say just to make sure you’re fitting in, doing what is expected, or not unintentionally outing yourself before you’re comfortable or safe to do so. One of the really impactful exercises we did at a KPMG Pride Network event was to tell a story about something we did with our partners or friends and were then tasked to change our friend or partner’s gender in the story. This is something our LGBTQ friends have to do often before coming out. It showed, in a simple and powerful way, that having to modify this seemingly short word (he/she/they) within your own life narrative was incredibly difficult. What started as just a story you told about your weekend became stressful and led to deep self consciousness and disconnection. I’ll never forget what that day did to help me realize my privilege. I’m sad to see such a swing away from inclusive behavior and advocacy. We should be celebrating how different each of us are. Saying loudly and proudly that being different is powerful, beautiful and strong. Even on the days where it is personally hard to relate to those words yourself. We truly believe representing and celebrating these differences is a super power at Edera. So we’re going to celebrate Pride Month as we always have. During this Pride month, we’re celebrating our LGBTQ+ co-workers and friends, wherever you work and whatever you do. May we continue to find the courage to work together in support of equality, especially when it isn’t popular to do so. Please know you’ll always have friends and support at Edera. We're going to highlight ways to support the LGBTQ+ community throughout Pride Month over on the Edera page, be sure to follow along!
