Update!!! Panels are sewn together and I added pockets!!! That’s what the green blip is, I didn’t have big enough pieces of fabric of the original flannel pajamas to cut. Just waiting on the elastic to be delivered so I can start the waistband

Update!!! I’m sewing the front panel of the skirt and this is what it looks like so far!! 14 x 8 squares right now, and the bottom row isn’t ironed yet, which is a fun demonstration of just what a difference ironing is making because look at how poofy it is.

All squares cut!!! 677 of these guys. What I’ve learned is that size of pant on the label did not correlate to the number of squares I could get out of the garment. The most I got was 82 and the fewest was 61, both from XLs

Update! Experimented with interfacing per @elky and finishing! Think interfacing is the way to go! Figured out the overlock foot and made a sample piece

Okay love this, thank you! This is a flag that has a ship with crochet hook masts and a granny square and cross stitch skull (?) sail. And a needle and thread along the edge. Don’t use granny squares for sails though they have too many holes. Pro tip 🤣
