Politics - national, local, international - so I need arts, science, history to restore my faith in our world
The criminals voted to keep doing crime.

I keep thinking about this.
USAID
COVID
RFK, Jr.
ICE, DHS
Guns, police killings
Economic despair
Pollution, climate, infrastructure disasters
Dismantled DOJ, effectively decriminalized crime
Wars

Deaths and destruction caused by a stupid, venal clown and his irrational minions.

Retaliate is not the right word. Retaliate has a bad, petty connotation.

We've gone beyond shame, honesty, and rule of law. A collegial atmosphere will be impossible without some strong reorientation.

And. Wealthy. Pay. Actual. Taxes.
They won't die, I promise.

Somehow, the mixture of evil and stupid with Frederick's of Hollywood taste is seen as brilliant and charming.
November 11, 2025 at 1:35 PM
Exactly. Being disgusted by Fascism is not the same as being inspired to get out the vote.
People need to want to vote for something enthusiastically, not holding their nose.
November 10, 2025 at 5:18 AM
Yes, of course. Nihilists versus realists. They want the government to collapse.

But voters were excited that Democrats were staying strong instead of strongly disagreeing.

People have to be excited to vote. It is harder to vote against fascists if we have nothing to vote for.

Voters were excited that the Democrats were staying strong instead of writing letters and whining on camera.
People have to be excited to vote. It is hard to vote against fascists if we have nothing to vote for.

Well, if you get a pinky swear promise that they plan to make an effort to schedule a discussion about ACA subsidies, even though they use self-righteous hate to justify having zero credibility, zero ethics, zero scruples, zero morals, and brag that breaking laws and agreements makes them manly? OK
November 9, 2025 at 9:43 PM
If the Democrats give up on a pinky swear promise of a future discussion about ACA subsidies...

I'll still be anti-fascist, but...

But he's so much better asleep.

This is beautiful. I love reading all of your postings.

Some scientists may need AI. None of the rest of us do. Learn to read and write. The planet will survive longer, and there will be much less stupid. Marketing needs AI? It abso-fucking-lutely does not.
We need a livable planet more than a CGI ad campaign.

I'm pretty sure they can only unclench when they can be sure he is sleeping.

Define "commitment" in 2025.
November 7, 2025 at 5:18 AM
But first, he destroyed USAID. (600,000 deaths estimated so far.) Promoted coal and oil. Destroyed healthcare. Celebrated violence. Ended rule of law. Millions of lives lost. Then, he started on the economy.
November 7, 2025 at 5:09 AM
The definition of "crime" is fluid. The Ministry of Truth has some more explaining to do.

He is more ass pimple than president.

Just show you're a great dad with a strong, amazing kid. She rocks.
November 4, 2025 at 5:39 AM
I wish my dad was around to hear Mr. Mamdani praise Vito Marcantonio. He would be so thrilled. Dad adored (and voted for) Marcantonio.
November 4, 2025 at 5:11 AM
I agree. It is strange to me to meet an adult who pays zero attention to the world. I was thrilled this man was open to talking about "why he should bother." I hope I convinced him.
November 3, 2025 at 7:26 PM
I spoke to a 30 year old last week. He asked how to vote. He asked why he should vote. Then he said his friends all got "crazy tik tok" news, and he didn't know where to go to become informed enough to vote. At least he was interested enough to ask questions...

I watch nothing on CBS except Stephen Colbert. When he's done, I'm done.
