Loved the SF Ballet's recent performances of 4 ballets by Dutch Master choreographer Van Manen. Modern but in the classical tradition. Beautifully executed by the company.

The first-ever Motel6 in Santa Barbara has been carefully restored and decorated to 1950s glory. It is a delight, steps from the Beach. 1950 dollars aren't invoked, sadly.

SF Ballet's production of "Raymonda" last night was a visual and technical success. The dancers executed complicated routines with precision and emotion. The story line is thin and the ballet would benefit from a little judicious editing but Bravo! to the new artistic director and the team.
