As a country, we are nowhere near equipped, resilient or mature enough to absorb this fundamental shift in end of life care. Palliative and social care are a shambles- we must fund and fix those first without adding further pressure to a broken system. It's not a fair ask of the medical profession.

Bl##dy Americans. Have to win at everything. Not even content for Liz Truss to retain her gold medal for "Most kamikaze mismanagement of an economy ever". It was all she had left!

The other point to make with these 'reciprocal' (haha) tariffs, is that for most countries Trump's tariffs around half those charged to US, eg EU tariffs on US are 39% but Trump has only imposed 20% on nasty EU. On that basis the 10% for 10% quid pro quo on UK is relatively extra punitive.

Just about. Very much on life support still. They closed gap in Florida but didn't take those house seats despite big effort. Must remember that forwarded swathes of US electorate they're getting the radical reform they voted for.

I watched. It was great. Will be booking a trip to Stromboli with my yr 9 son. Essential GCSE geography watching....and a welcome change from binge watching house for family tv viewing. I told him he should be taking notes. I got an eye roll.

Mark Lowen from the BBC has just been deported from Turkey after covering the protest marches. It really is the Spring March of the dictators globally isn't it! Who's going to stop them and how? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

My friend is an NHS sexual health consultant. She is seeing more & more antibiotic resistant infections. At the same time they're seeing budget cuts to services meaning they don't even have enough clinicians to lead clinics and are having to run nurse led clinics. This is a crisis in the making.
