Here's the truth about two-tier policing

Donald Trump sparked outrage with his shocking display of bullying at the Oval office meeting with Ukraine’s President Zelensky. Now, over 150,000 of us are calling to cancel his second UK state visit - will you join the backlash too? you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...
No second state visit for Trump
Unbelievable. Keir Starmer has handed Donald Trump a letter from King Charles, inviting him for a second state visit to the UK. It’s totally unprecedented, and should not go ahead.  This is the...

How long will it be before it fails in England and they truly look for different choices? Thankfully Scotland already has different choices and those who had not already seen it are increasingly waking up to it, because we want a different kind of caring society.
Starmer is chasing right wing pro-Brexit voters who are unlikely to vote Labour while neglecting Labour's left wing Remain base in the belief that left wing voters have no alternative to Starmer in order to keep out the Tories and Reform. That calculation fails in Scotland.

I agree, misleading to say the least. She chooses to target the most vulnerable in society, the ones least able to cope and in doing so, she and her government who support it, shamelessly show their lack of compassion or humanity. People will suffer horribly, when there were clearly other choices.
This headline is misleading. Reeves has not been "forced" to find an additional £1.6 billion in cuts to benefits. She has CHOSEN to impose more cuts on benefits because she refuses to raise taxes on the wealthiest.

Unbelievably disgusting choice from a party pretending to be for the people. It stands only for the rich and powerful and actions speak louder than words. Weegingerdug says it extremely well. It IS a political and I think, a personal choice, to punishingly take from the most vulnerable in society.

Careful what to believe from msm in Scotland, especially bbc because unbelievably, but better believe it, it is all bias against a Scotland that can function well for itself without being part of the UK. Look deeper. Understand what is being mitigated and improved with hands tied behind our backs.
The headline produced by the BBC is a flagrant attempt to divert the reader from a positive story re the vast reduction of child poverty as a direct result of our SNP governments actions. bsky.app/profile/lady...

This is hysterical. The Labour party in Glasgow are in chaos. Still, it's nice to know it's not just the public they take for granted and treat as fools. It's how they treat each other too.

Shame on all Labour MPs not rebelling against these disgusting cuts, not least the Scottish ones who see how the worst poor punishing policies from Westminster are mitigated by the Scottish Government and make a difference to individual lives and society as a whole.
Only one Labour MP from a Scottish seat - Alloa & Grangemouth MP Brian Leishman - is planning to rebel against Starmer & Reeves's cuts to disability benefits. The other shameful careerists are happy to punish the disabled to protect the rich from tax rises.

One of the most heinous things this government and the likes of Farage are proposing and doing, is lowering food standards for the majority, thereby lowering health outcomes too, while at the same time attempting to get richer from it by privatising the NHS. It's disgusting, but not surprising.
Farage wants chlorinated chicken & means tested access to the NHS.

“Farage told The Telegraph in December, ‘if you can afford it, you should pay’, and he has called for an insurance-based system for years – that’s healthcare delivered on your ability to pay.”

Only have to glance across the pond to know that private doesn't work. Why would the majority of people countenance such a stupid proposal when it's the majority who will suffer. 'National Health Care', says it on the box. Pay private if you want, but don't mess with universal health care for all.

There is little room for doubt that favour is being bought and that the majority of us are the ones who end up paying for it. At the moment the ones paying the highest price are the most vulnerable in society, the sick and disabled. We have a heartless government and it's time people demand better.
There's no such thing as a free lunch. The public ultimately picks up the tab when politicians accept gifts & hospitality from businesses. Companies don't give away free stuff out of the goodness of their hearts, they expect some benefit for their business.

Sadly not true for us, but having experienced it, it's not what I want for the young. Many in some younger generations are choosing not to have children, as they still can't afford to and wider support isn't there. They don't see it as a world to subject children to and worry about the environment.

Looking forward to Gen Z getting politically active to make universal basic income, free college, and M4A happen. That's how to make it possible for a good life to be affordable for everyone.

I agree with Scott, let's keep our independence in employment and not allow more control over us by tied workplace accommodation! A decent wage so people can pay for decent accommodation themselves and have autonomy over their choices.
Let's not live at the office and instead do 4-day 32-hour weeks with no reductions in pay and also universal basic income to better enable us to simply live and allow us to truly choose what work we do, how much time we spend doing it, where we do it, who we work for, and for how much money.
Instead of letting people work from home, why not let workers live in the office?

This week’s @thetimes.com biz column on why we need to bring back decent staff accommodation.

There's also the fact that the cost of most UBIs and GLIs is about a third the cost of the "back of the envelope" gross cost.

There's the savings I've talked about before which come up in this article as well where a unconditional system saved $410,000 for the year.
