So proud of this Georgia school!
Lambert High School in Georgia was the only U.S. school to place in the high school top 10 at iGEM, an international synthetic biology competition. The other top teams included one from South Korea, one from Taiwan, and seven from China. cbsn.ws/4otdEKq

Was a dog with a bone today. And by that I mean I was dogged in my research to find out who the widow of my 2nd cousin married in 1950. I had the index but no name for the groom. Tks to salemdeeds.com, I was surprised to find their marriage cert! Cue the floodgates. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

Weird night of newspaper research. Came across an article about the stolen body of Elizabeth Taylor’s former husband Mike Todd, and an article with someone named Delta Dawn Smith. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

Hard to believe it has been a month since I visited the church where my gg-grandparents were married in 1844. St Andrew’s RC Church, Glasgow, Scotland. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

Just got back from an incredible trip to Scotland! A big thrill was finally meeting @acspring.bsky.social. Alison helped me with Glasgow research during early Covid days. Visiting the church where my gg-grandparents were married with her was really special. #Genealogy #FamilyResearch🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Today was a great research day! “Nephews were Pallbearers” led me to a sister I didn’t know my gg-gf had. Two names I knew, but the other two names opened up a whole new branch. #Genealogy #FamilyResearch

Another excellent episode.
The latest episode of Transatlantic: An Irish American History Podcast is live! In this episode I chat with Breandán Mac Suibhne & Daniel Carey about 1000s of Irish emigrant letters made available through the Imirce Database, discussing what they tell us: shows.acast.com/66c85949a45b...

Until I listened to Transatlantic, it never occurred to me to look at New Orleans for East Galway ancestors. Will definitely check out Bad Bridget.

#Genealogy #FamilyHistory #FamilyResearch Was surprised with a match to the man who wrote the book on the Ballinlass Evictions. I’ve been trying for years to make a connection to one of the evicted families. Seeing the Ballinlass Memorial last summer was humbling.

#Genealogy #FamilyHistory Can anyone advise on this? I am looking at indexed screens where there’s a name, DOD, Book, Vol and Page# but no real info. I am trying to see if I should purchase these certs.
Question re INDEXED death records on irishgenealogy.ie, if I buy the certs, will there be actual info, if it’s available? I once made the mistake of buying certs & it was the same info on the site. #Genealogy #FamilyResearch #NotAtRootsTech

For anyone researching hard to find East Galway ancestors who may have emigrated, I have found quite a few that landed in New Orleans from 1847-1860 and later. #Genealogy #FamilyResearch. Yesterday was a good day.

Today was a great research day! I made the connection of so many family members from one townland in Monaghan who emigrated to the Lynn/Salem/Marblehead area over a 50 yr span. And they all seemed to work for their uncle by marriage, a successful businessman. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.🌳

Today I made a version of my mom’s lasagna which she had cut from a San Giorgio pasta box back in the early 60s. Not familiar w/ this brand, I researched it. An Italian immigrant from Calabria,Girolamo Guerrisi, arrived in NY in 1907, and moved to Lebanon, PA in 1912 to work for Keystone Fruit.

🎄Thinking about my 1st job in the late 1900s.😉 I worked in the gift wrap dept for a local chain.🎁 I wish I could say the gifts I wrap today are as pretty as the ones I did back then. I do make sure the edges are sharply creased.🥴

Struggling with adult children not wanting family documents? Donate to a #HistoricalSociety or #Library that you are comfortable with so information is preserved. Shoutout to #LowellHistoricalSociety which helped my research & #WakullaCountyHistoricalSociety that took husband’s documents.

File this under shady priests. First entry "the infamous Catherine Dolly". Second entry "the unfortunate farmer Michael McDonagh... and that pick pocket Biddy Cox". #Genealogy #FamilyResearch

I need #Genealogy help. A few yrs ago I downloaded a FMP record, labelled it 1821 census & now I can’t find it anywhere. Looks like Valuation Books. Townland is Ballinacorra Ffrench, Killian, County Galway. Is the contract up & I’m out of luck? #IrishGenealogy
