INTO THE RAPIDS comes out in about a month & I'm excited to share this review!

After I read the article I realized:
It's not just parents who need to meet our kids where they are––it's all of us, needing to meet each other where each person is. That means setting aside expectations (and judgements!) & recognizing all we have in common. There's so much connecting us all. (4/4)

Out poured the story about how heroic someone has to be to reclaim their brain when it’s been hijacked by OCD. And how kids, when trying to be the perfect friend, can start to lose themselves.

So, after a doozy of a week last week, Alice and I up and moved down to Philadelphia yesterday and will be here together for the next two months as she attends the program from 8:30am - 3pm each day. (4/8)

A year ago, my daughter Alice (who was then 11) had to be hospitalized for a month because she was so suicidal. It turned out that she had developed severe OCD that was constantly yelling at her in her brain that she needed to be perfect and that if she wasn’t, she needed to punish herself. (1/8)
