At the end of the day it doesn’t matter because I’m done consuming Harry Potter content of any kind. If it weren’t for the hardworking people who make their livelihood on shows like this, I’d be hoping it would crash and burn. As it is, I’d love to see JK Rowling’s world turned on its head.

I’m just arguing for the freedom to explore new directions in remakes. They already did it straight up once. Now do it weird. Make it weirder. Try new things. If you’re gonna retell the same story, find a way to make it unique and interesting again.

Perhaps they will explore the racial dynamics involved in Snape being black and James Potter being (presumably) white. Perhaps it will add an extra layer to Snape, and an extra shade of grey to James. Or perhaps it will be really bad.

I don’t know anything about Paapa Essiedu’s previous work, nor do I think he fits my mental image of Snape as described in the books. But I have watched a LOT of Shakespeare plays and reinvention of the characters is key to keeping them fresh. It gives the character a new perspective.

I see lots of people calling for Adam Driver, but that’s just asking for him to try and redo the exact same thing that Alan Rickman did, and it would suffer for the comparison. Not only that, but it would be creatively stagnant. We’ve SEEN the book accurate Snape.

I literally did not draw on paper for years after getting an iPad. I regret it now as I try to get back into it and I feel like a big idiot tryna snap my perfect circles.

I’ve been trying to get back on paper. I got my iPad early in my career and basically gave up paper and I regret it now. It helped me improve my tattooing and it’s an amazing tool,but I’m finding nothing beats paper and pencil for loose composition sketches. Love seeing yours, thanks for the inspo 😊
