This piece, like so many others, cites nonconsensual choking as a reason why porn is bad.

But it’s not porn that’s the problem. Children and young adults aren’t taught comprehensive sex ed and have no media literacy. Of course, this op ed makes no mention of either.

So why, on the night of Jan. 25, 2023, was Stephen Matthews still on the app? Just four days before, Match Group had been alerted when another woman reported him for rape. A little more than a week later, he was reported for rape again. This time, the survivor went to the police. None of these women knew that the company had known about his violent behavior for years. He was first reported on Sept. 28, 2020. By then, Match Group's safety policy was already in place. Even after a police report, it took nearly two months for Matthews to be arrested — the only thing that got him off the apps. By then, at least 15 women would eventually report that Matthews had raped or drugged them. Nearly every one of them had met him on dating apps run by Match Group. No online space is risk-free. But while Match Group has long possessed the tools, financial resources, and investigative procedures necessary to make it harder for bad actors to resurface, internal documents show the company has resisted efforts to spread them across its apps, in part because safety protocols could stall corporate growth. "The obsession with metrics and having to stick with them is frustrating and potentially dangerous," one employee wrote in 2021 after the company learned that the investigative news nonprofit ProPublica was planning a story. "This is not the way we were meant to work and people's lives are at risk."

"Pull back and see the whole picture of all the attacks on everything to do with our sexual selves," she said. Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton isn't an isolated case. Depending on how the Supreme Court rules, online content could become more censored. "There could be a number of other subjects that the state tries to restrict access to," Walters said. "Reproductive rights information, abortion, guns, politics, you name it. And so this case is going to set the standard of what the government is allowed to get away with in restricting access by adults" to this content. "There's so much riding on this case," said Levy. "It's really the future of the internet...I don't believe it's going to stop here."

Here are some of Maltz Bovy's other points as to why 20 percent of Gen Z women identify as bi: She refutes the theory that "everyone is bisexual." Huh? Since when is 20 percent = 100 percent? I, too, refute this theory, and I think anyone who believes it to be true is bisexual themselves. I once thought this might be the case, but hey — I'm bisexual. It's easy to graft your experience onto everyone else's, and for bi people, it can be difficult to imagine gender actually mattering for one's sexual or romantic desires. But, clearly, gay and straight people exist, so it must matter. It's so straight women "seem interesting." What's so interesting about being bi? Kissing girls? Well... It's "an internalization of the now decades-long drumbeat of supposed science on how women are inherently bisexual." Once again: huh? Do you really think young women across the United States have internalized this? They're busy getting ready for the Chappell Roan concert. Asking bisexual people to "prove" themselves, or asserting that bisexual people are lying, are such retro biphobic responses that it'd be quaint if it wasn't annoying. And I'm bisexual — I know all about being annoying! But biphobia stems from this mentality that people simply can't exist in the in between. That bisexuals must choose, and if they choose another gender, well, they were just straight all along. One justification here is that women are identifying as bi "en masse" because it's cool, trendy, or will provide them social clout. To that I say: Where? On Tumblr? The gay club? The aforementioned Chappell Roan concert? Buddy, if people want to be known as bi in these spaces, there's a reason, and it's not that they're actually straight. This also ignores — or is ignorant of — biphobia in queer communities. Bisexuals hear the same statements (that they're actually just straight, that their partners define who they are, that they're somehow less valid) from gay people

The amount of people trolling Meghan Trainor for speaking about chronic pelvic pain is disturbing. As it is, women rarely talk about it due to shame. I’m certainly no stan but it’s cool that she is willing to talk about an issue so many people suffer from but few are open about
