I'm 55. My grandparents never had a shower, just an old tub. You washed your hair with a plastic cup. But they did have a fuzzy toilet seat cover! It was lavender.
No garage. Rented someone else's garage a couple blocks away. Obviously a manual door. That was 2004.
Every day of my life is easier.

Also, Jackie Lau's Match Made for Thanksgiving is fabulous and I'm glad it's the very first book on your list! I think it was the second of her Holidays with the Wongs that I read, and it's still one of my top three of her many books - just so adorable.

Romance - currently writing contemporary, both MF and MM, but used to write paranormal romantic suspense. I'm working on getting those old books re-released now that I'm an indie author.

I travel regularly. Before I figured out how to turn email summaries off, I kept track of the AI summaries of my flight itinerary emails. Every single summary had at least one thing wrong, such as telling me that I was departing from my destination, etc. Useless.

I'm a writer, and another writer warned that Docusign was putting AI summaries at the front of book contracts, and was very clear that this was a very bad idea. Those terms are VERY specific and yeah, hallucinations about royalty terms, bad idea. Even accurate, it's legal advice without a license?

There's the ones I catch, and that makes my Eastern European heritage VERY suspicious of the ones I don't.

Oh I too had one of those a long time ago, I got that part -- but even time catches up to the well-experienced. Just had a 30th reunion and one night two of us drank a whole bottle of wine and we were amazed at ourselves! By ourselves! Like big kids!

I love this phrase "ghost efficiency." That is it - I heard the story of the guy who uses it to text people, and that was the epitome of ghost efficiency.

What am I supposed to use it for? To summarize my emails? Too long, wrong. To write things? Too long, wrong. To plan trips? Planning is FUN and why would I outsource that? I played with it a bit six months ago, it was meh.
Also, I hate its enshittification of search results with my whole soul.

Wait, how do you know my 19 yr old? That's like every day at 11 am. Down to the fuzzy animal slippers.

I'm approximately 55 thousand years old, and went to donate last week (B neg, so the blood bank calls A LOT) but had low red blood cell count and those vampires gave me free iron pills b/c they are real thirsty.
Never thought of it as a way to lower PFAS though. Makes sense.

Are those not ... the same? Or at least a story as condition precedent?

Yes, anyone who saw my ASD child cry over death of a pet would never say ASD means there is a lack of empathy. But then again, my kid isn't a sociopath, wasn't raised by sociopaths, isn't a billionaire, and has had a lot of therapy to understand stuff. They make me be a better person all the time.

Eh, hard disagree. Lack of facial expressions or verbal expressions in the moment that convey empathy in the ways neurotypical people expect? Sure. Lack of actual feelings/empathy? No. Most people with autism have lots of emotions and feelings, including empathy. Autism doesn't make sociopaths.

Oh Congrats! The feeling in the sideo of your face is your jaw loosening up, btw.
(I submitted a manuscript on Monday and then 30 min later was giving an 18 yr old boy his first night driving lesson and DO NOT RECOMMEND so please choose wisely for rest of day. That poor child.)
