This little book and I am off to meet up with my fellow writers and to celebrate our year. Sometimes writing is so solitary - it's good to chat and share ideas. Hopefully there will be mince pies

It's a blustery old day out there but it's time to write ans then put up the Christmas tree. Bauble time!

I devourer her books as a child. Mostly because I knew I wasn't supposed to read them!

Well this is rather bleak for us all isn't it?

My current library haul - I'm loving The Square of Sevens so far

I've just finished this and ripped through it

I feel very 'seen' in this passage. I had a torch so I never burned my pyjamas but otherwise this sums up what I read as a child. I also pretended to be ill so I could finish a book and my mother, knowing full well there was nothing wrong with me, let me. Love you, Mum!

I've escaped from the house to read and write. Got very wet feet on the journey!

Other people seem to write with faithful dogs and needy cats. I have a manic hamster as my writing/editing companion

This afternoon's reading - I'm intrigued. I will attempt some editing this evening. But then there's a good forecast and a clear moon, so maybe a fire pit beckons?

It's been a bit of an adventure through the rain and road closures (thanks Babet!) but I'm finally at my favourite writing place, Gladstone's Library

So I have these and a kindle version of 'Sea of Tranquility' to read over half term. I have high hopes - don't let me down!

Margot would say hi but as you van see she's busy!

Rare self-promotion warning! I'm just starting to decompress after a busy half term at a new and lovely school. On the last day, one of my year 10s came up after realising I was an author as well as a teacher. "But you wrote one of my favourite books!" I do forget that they are out there sometimes!

Exciting - I'm actually out for my first book launch in ages. So looking forward to meeting up with friends face to face!

My school was lucky enough to have the amazing Louisa Reid in class this week. They are still buzzing. The Poet really spoke to them

I've really been looking forward to this and I hope it lives up to expectation. What a title and cover!

I highly recommend this memoir. Tough, tough read in places but utterly brilliant
