It's gotten ZERO attention (this article doesn't even mention it!) but this law authorizes state AGs like Ken Paxton to seek court orders forcing the executive branch to detain and deport specific people, overturn individual humanitarian parole decisions, and cease issuing visas to entire countries.

Mass deportations are going to make it clear that border issues are not something happening "elsewhere". Asylum matters, welcoming with dignity matters. I hope we respond to the coming horrors with the best of us, with eyes wide open.
