I think we could expect a mass medical event that would be known as “The Great Stroke”. Then when they recovered what was left of their speech and brain cells, we’d never heard the end about how inappropriate that is to have in schools.

This picture leads me to believe that instead getting tipped, somehow the waiter/waitress owed the table money somehow. Or that’s at least what they told the manager when they complained the sweet tea wasn’t fresh.

I really appreciate your kind words but I promise you such high accolades are not made for me. I, like many other women, am just sick of it and finally realizing complaining isn’t actually making a difference.

He is! I unloaded some pretty heavy stuff on him today so he was really quiet and just taking it in but he definitely understood and was surprised to learn some sobering truths about what women face on a regular basis.

Anyone reading this who may feel something similar (especially my fellow white women), I encourage you to just take a first step and see where it takes you. We can’t expect to see an equitable rise for all women if we aren’t willing to put ourselves out there to learn and try.

Furthermore, people don’t have to be taught to fear things that could kill that, that’s generally just instinct and an interest in self preservation.

It’s crazy how “childlessness” doesn’t increase a persons odds of dying or being off’d by their partner like pregnancy does. It’s almost like the fear is rational and prevalent…. Weird.

Love it! I just started “White Fragility” and quickly learned I’m going to need to take notes and treat the book like a full on class. It’s going to take me a long time to get through that way but I think it’ll be better for absorbing the information!
