Despite very much NOT being a celebrity (!), I’m proud to be one of the over 100 disabled people undersigning this letter to Keir Starmer as part of the #TakingThePIP campaign against cuts to disability services.

I had a lovely bank holiday morning with @GMB today, discussing my unfortunate train access denial from last week — and some tips on enforcing your rights as a disabled person in a political context where they’re rarely granted without a fight.

The assisted dying lobby isn’t being honest with you –

Disabled people are at risk from this bill.

Per friend Ruth Murran & I, the special bunny question for wheelchair users must be:

‘Do you realise that we might decide not to let you on our train if you haven’t made the right guess about which staff member to be grateful to?’

I joined LBC's Matthew Wright this morning to talk more on UK benefits cuts -- this time, about how they'll shift costs onto the NHS, social care, & other already-struggling critical services.

We also got into my advocacy on disabled people's ability to work in the US disability system.

"We need to ask government what they think they're doing when they say disabled people ought to work, but they're making it damn near impossible for us to do so."

I’ll be interested to see how the Special Olympics crowd greets the people who ordered the elimination of materials that include the words "disability" and
"accessible,” and who are in the midst of attempting to cut vital disability services.

Give 'em hell, guys! ✊🏼🦾

The joys of restaurants’ wheelchair accessible / disabled bathrooms! And this is after I had them clear chairs out of it. No, there was not room to transfer to the toilet.

Photo: An accessible bathroom cluttered with items including paint cans, towels, umbrellas, and a makeshift baby change table.

Last week, I took part in a roundtable at the London Assembly on disabled people’s access to TfL-managed transport, It felt really productive, and I was impressed by the engagement shown by the Assembly Members.

I can only hope it results in actual change, though, as these are not new issues!

Thank you to the London Borough of Hounslow for having me this morning as a keynote speaker for their celebration of International Disabled People’s Day #IDPD24!

My speech, “No Planet Without Us,” was about how disabled wisdom & ingenuity is critical to successful climate action. 🌍♿️

After 2 years living in London & taking the Tube, I think this is the first time I’ve ever had access to a wheelchair-height emergency button. ♿️🚨

Happy to have it, as I’ve been trapped on trains before. I just wish this was a safety norm I could count on, esp as a young woman.

I stopped on my way out of the UK Disability Expo to let Transport for London (TfL)’s DLR staff know that they are my FAVORITE line! With all stations at level-boarding, their access is far superior to any other. 🚇♿️

This accessible transport enthusiast would like DLR branded everything, pls!
