Throat is still bad! No stream today unfortunately.

I find a good rule of thumb is that if something has to say it's "perfectly legal", it's almost certainly not.

But stream deck plugins disagree about this! Some show the current state in the button icon, others show the alternate state! Thankfully the only plugin I've found that doesn't let me configure this is doing it the way I prefer: showing the current state.

But what about a microphone "mute / unmute" toggle? If I'm muted, should it show an icon of a muted microphone (because I'm muted), or should it show an icon of an unmuted microphone (because pushing it unmutes)? I think the muted icon makes more sense here.

For a "play / pause" toggle either way works. If it's playing it could show a "play" icon (because it's playing), but it could also show a "pause" icon (because pushing the button pauses). It's not confusing because you can hear if it's playing, you get immediate feedback.
