Visited Bucerius Law School on Wednesday to see Eva Illouz and Natan Sznaider in a thought-provoking and very direct conversation on October 7th, its aftermath, (lack of) compassion, antisemitism, and the discourse on Israel and Palestine in the humanities since the 1960s.

Attended Grainy Days 16mm Festival (@ Metropolis Kino) tonight to watch several of Maya Deren’s films!
New discovery: “The Private Life of a Cat” (~1946) — a docu (if one may call it that) about domestic cats that feels very much like a predecessor to cat memes/clips (lots of kittens on screen!)

Collected Writings on Film by Maya Deren (2005). Stumbled upon it at the St George’s (English) Bookstore and the timing could honestly not have been better.
Do I feel that way every time I come across anything related to Deren’s films or film poetics? Yes, absolutely.
