Crying my eyes out on the third day. Reading horrific comments by idiots who don’t get the situation. People are so mean when something hasn’t happened to them.

“Think positively” has rarely cheered to someone up. “Eat the rich,” on the other hand, always makes me get a warm, happy feeling inside. I guess I’m just more into dancing around a bonfire made of oligarch bones.

Not that positivity or finding moments of peace are bad, but sometimes the relentless focus on gratitude can invalidate our right to be outraged, to demand better, and to feel the full weight of what’s wrong.
