Some art! Which is a bookmark. Which is titled "procrastination" and made out of a biscuit packet using the fine liner colours I haven't lost yet. I don't even like zombies, I just began drawing hands, remembered I had scissors, and took the path of least resistance. Yes, it puppets.

Here is a bathroom moth I just spent too long trying to photograph. I've managed to fracture my ankle, leaving me with too much time on my hands.

Even comes with the ringing endorsement of 1/2 of my parents!

I had this thing about evil sheep when I was a kid. Dunno what got me thinking about it, but while I'm in a sketching mood, here are some evil sheep. #art #horrorart #traditionalart

Sketching on my recycling. I go through phases of forgetting how much I like drawing. I briefly went through a digital art phase, but AI has killed my enjoyment there for a bit. Back to pen and paper (cardboard).

After-work sketch.

Been cleaning my walking boots today. These were my mum's, and they're older than me, but they still work. It frustrates me that no clothes or shoes are designed to last in the same way these days.

Avoiding life by playing with colouring pencils and scissors (I used to hate colouring pencils but have come around to after realising they require less clear-up than most other mediums).

The Christmas card I made for my grandfather. It will only ever make sense for him.

It's currently raining horizontally and I'm in a tent. I guess I could be writing, but instead, I bring you this great picture of me and my almost-sixty-year-old mum.

That comes to one of the biggest weird things. Aside from crime “reporting,” which seems to be frequent, everything else is incredibly out of date. Scroll a bit further down and you’ll get the “entertainment” section. The newest offering is 3 weeks old; the oldest (still front page), 7 months. (5)

Below is a bar listing different pages, which are again news standard: news, world, entertainment, weather, etc. The weather one is a bit funny, because I’d anticipate weather forecasts, but instead it’s news stories about weather events, all of them at least 2 weeks old. (4)

It came to my attention on what was once Twitter, where one post was having a semi-popular moment due to a current tragedy in news. This post contained information that doesn’t seem to be verified in any other media. I was curious. (2)

Just dived down a rabbit hole about a strange online site purporting to be news. It's called channel3now(.com), and has an, on the face of it, official looking website and social media presence, if with low engagement. It’s also really weird the longer you look. (1)

Looking through my folder of old artworks, and I definitely went through a phase of sculptural teeth.

I leave cardboard chocolate packets lying on my desk. Inevitably, doodles start gathering on them. Mostly they look pretty shit, but every so often the layers accumulate into something that's interesting. I'm not as unhinged as this makes it appear.

This week has been cold. I'm struggling to weld Cunifer again (not my favourite metal), and I've done more outlining and thinking about writing than actual writing. Just this evening, I found out I've worn through my bike's rear brake pads. Now I'm doodling on food packaging.

I'm cold and comfort reading Lois McMaster Bujold. Here are some cool trees I saw while visiting my family over the holidays. The world in the reflection looked fairer, and I wonder if I should have jumped in.

Without downloading any new pics, what's your energy going into 2024?

Hello! New here. Hoping to meet some fellow writers of speculative fiction.

I also make metal art and mend ships, for anyone who fancies chatting about that (or just generally).
