Got an email from the NIH today about a new protocol that requires patients who are not US citizens or green card holders to register in order to enter. The info will “…go into a computer system that is part of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of National Security (ONS).“

Been reading more books this month than I did all of last year. I just read my 3rd book where I was extremely hype about it in the first half - like loving the premise & the characters - and then it dropped off a lot in the second half. Endings are hard!

I have been so tired every day in Jan and I can’t tell if it’s the LA wildfires and chaos/terror of the national politics, or if I’ve crossed some physical rubicon into mid-30s land. Every day at work ppl are like how about such and such new project, and I’m like how about hibernation!!

What an incredible, sad, moving book. We have a responsibility to bear witness to all the myriad ways things are fucked by racism and capitalism in this country — and a responsibility not to let those harsh realities make us give up. A good read for this moment
