I think the board got exactly what they wanted today. They sat down (those of them who bothered to turn up), raised their middle fingers at the support and then used the inevitable reaction as an excuse to shut the whole thing down before they could face any questions.

I wonder if Nancyball might look a bit like this...
I know some have reservations about 3-4-3 / 3-4-2-1, but I think it gives some interesting options and flexibility, while playing to the strengths of some players in the squad (obviously not all and recruitment as ever is key).

- The only real questions are at centre forward and right wing.
- Interested to see if Inamura makes the bench this week.

With a tough and crucially important run of six games before the end of the month, the squad is in pretty grim shape and needs reinforcements now, not just by the end of the window. We cannot go into the CL games starting Idah and Yang. Tierney cannot start all 6 of those games.

The last time the two sides met in a friendly was at Fenway Park in Boston in the summer of 2010. Only one player on either side remains from that game: James Forrest, of course.
