You don’t have to drive me crazy… I can walk from here.
As a life long Christian I have neither been abused nor abused anyone.
There are bad people any organisation, what about child abuse and youth sports?

There were some really good schemes in Glasgow where they mixed alternate streets social housing and private housing. It stopped a lot of the ‘social issues’ associated with large social housing developments

10 years ago I was working on a council run housing development of 350 homes… in those 10 years they have built less than 20 of them. Too much red tape, within councils. They just aren’t commercial enough.

Unfortunately, without a major shake up of the way local authorities access funding and operate, it isn’t this easy.

The biggest problem with councils building housing they don’t have the infrastructure to design them or project manage them. Or the free cash to spend on a project of the size required

Where it doesn’t work is… I work hard, my boss looks good, gets a big bonus, keeps it all for himself, and don’t get rewarded, and get demoralised and stop trying or go work somewhere else!

On a small scale it works… I work hard… my department makes loads of money… my managing director is happy… my boss gets a big bonus, some of which he passes on to me, I’m inspired to work harder… and continue to make more money for my MD and make my boss look good

For exactly the reason I said. Pure greed, and short sightedness.
Those in power see the ‘little people’ as footsteps to climb up, and not what they are… a means of lifting yourself higher.

Trickle down economics works, with the right ethics.
It is greed that stops it working!
