We recorded a long conversation earlier for tomorrow’s @isthisdemocracypod.bsky.social about what we learned from the sad spectacle of Trump’s speech: We have a GOP entirely defined by Trumpism - and a Democratic Party in which far too many cling to appeasement and impotent politics-as-usual.
The Democratic Party has a wing of outright collaborationists. Their identity is entirely defined by presenting as in line with the “common sense” - which they believe necessitates showing nothing but disdain for their constituencies and endless deference to Trump.
They deserve nothing but scorn.

Trotz Milliarden-Fehlbudgetierung will der BR das Abbauprogramm durchboxen. Grund: Bund habe ein „Ausgabenproblem“, der Staat wachse zu schnell. Falsch! Staatsquote ist seit 25 Jahren stabil. Sagt der Bund selbst!
