Most of the people I worked with were living paycheck to paycheck just like me. "Making a stand" and possibly losing your job, career, and references over it just... It's a choice no one should need to be making. All us gov employees are just people at the end of the day. We gotta pay rent too.

While I hate it, most of the ground level employees who end up letting these little twats in are just that. Ground level employees. The practical want to ensure you can feed your family and the ideological want of protecting your country isn't an easy choice to make for many.

Probationary employees have been disqualified. I just got my notice that I am now unemployed even though I accepted the offer. Happy Dictators Day

We're suffering over here at the FS too. Lost an estimated 10% of our workforce. Very sorry it happened to y'all too. Stay strong and be there for each other. At the end of the day, all that matters is the people you can make eye contact with.

I hate to say it to ya, but if ya think Paper and TV news wasn't already pushing what they thought would get the most people to "Tune in" or Subscribe... News stopped being reliable when profit became involved, and that was well before any of our lifetimes...

Last I checked, 40k+ people have accepted the offer. That includes me. I've already started wrapping up my life here and am getting ready to move. This back and forth is f**king with people's lives.

I signed the USDA one. But they never say who signs it on behalf of the USDA so... Dont know what good it is until that's figured out.

Most likely, I'll get the ripoff and screwed outta what they said. Even with that, it just means I'm where I would be if I got fired. But on the very small chance they pay, I stand to make cash with 2 paychecks.

A whole lot of nothing honestly. Still working. USDA agreement says I'll remain until the end of the month, but who knows. I got a confirmation email that my resignation request was received and that they'd be in contact, nothing else yet. And that was yesterday night.

Either way, I'm taking it as an opportunity, moving myself from the east coast to the Willamette valley, where I hope it will be safer to weather the coming storm.

As I see this, I can stay and get fired, and never collect unemployment cause I'll just get a new job asap. If the buyout screws me, I'm in the same place. If not, money
