Today, the annual statistics of scientific procedures on living animals in Great Britain in 2024, have been released.

In 2024, 2,637,578 procedures were carried out on animals for scientific purposes.

New research from the University of Cambridge has uncovered how aspirin might prevent cancer metastasis. The study, conducted in mice, found that aspirin blocks a molecule called TXA2, which normally suppresses immune cells that fight cancer.
