Hilbert the possum was named by a friend of ours @lyrakeaton.bsky.social. Their reason for the name was "He just looks like a Hilbert.
Discord conversation from late 2022 between store founder thespongemagic and Lyra Keaton. Thespongemagic posted the sticker design of a Virginia oppossum holding a kitchen knife. The conversation goes as follows Lyra: Awwww. Hilbert TSM: I'm sorry who? Lyra: their name. Unless you wanna name them. But they look like a hilbert to me. TSM: they are named hilbert.

When staying at a house to dog sit one night, @thespongemagic.bsky.social woke up at 2 in the morning and noticed all the kitschy home decor adorned on the owner's wall. This gave her an idea for a set of stickers.
