finally read The Cipher by Kathe Koja. super nasty/vicious. fascinated by the "processes" of the funhole. i read Skin & Strange Angels long ago, which also focused on terrible interpersonal relationships between artists/outsiders. gonna seek out her short stories

felting wings has been a headache in the past so i'm keeping this simple
a work in progress sphinx made of yarn, felted wool, doll parts, and modeling foam. ribbon with wire running through the edges is being used to make feathers. each wing has 3 big ribbon-feathers.
