Good news! The Lucy mission will fly by Eurybates in 2027 and will obtain spectra as the asteroid rotates as well as high-res spectra of part of the surface. Lucy already gave us amazing results when it flew by Dinkinesh and Donaldjohanson, so I'm excited for what we'll see at Eurybates!

Why is there a slope variation in the visible but not the NIR? Maybe the material causing the slope doesn't reflect at NIR wavelengths. Maybe the orientation of the asteroid was equator-on for the visible observation but pole-on for the NIR observation. For now, IDK. 🤷🏽
