The main reason I could cut Liberals some slack is their promise to get us out of the housing crisis, but they are backpedalling even on that, cutting nearly 85% on housing programmes over the next 6 years […]

Found this route among this year best-bikepacking-route nominees: The Hydra Trail. It goes through the Baltic states: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, somewhat near where I lived. It definitely goes into my bucket list. Maybe next year? […]

A long-overdue privacy upgrade: the sad and powerless Amazon eero was replaced with a Linux-powered router.

As a bonus, I can finally plug in my home server via Ethernet and reduce lag (even SSH lagged!), there's also a ✨web-UI✨ instead of the eero app. One less app!

Went to a rally with Avi Lewis — his speech was full of populist ideas, by working people for working people. Unlike some in the NDP, he puts climate crisis among the challenges of the working class, instead of ignoring it for the sake of the economy. Positive impression overall.

Can we move by bike? Not sure.
Will I try? Ansolutely!

Kissing Crows (a local bike shop) 3D-printed a mount for my rear dynamo light 🤩

I wanted to go with p-clamps, but this might be even better.

Funny how both Conservatives and Greens don't support NDP's bill to electrify a bunch of extraction facilities (including LGN), and that might mean another election 🥲

A few people will be attempting to “ride” the Burnabop this Sunday

Quoting Jason who built the route, “Think of it not as 'going for a bike ride' so much as 'going exploring with my bike'”

I was about to head out to the closest Home Depot, and it struck me again how deceptive the proximity was: because of how car-centric this area is, 0.4 km is actually 3.5 km on a bike.

Ended up going to a local hardware store on #commercialdrive, and even though […]

When I was a kid, my grandparents often took me mushroom hunting. Unfortunately that experience is not very useful on another continent, as mushrooms are different here. I was never sure what I was looking at in the forests of BC, so I never picked anything.

But […]
