Wetzel seems to think syndicalism is the cure for this. Not sure I'm convinced, but interesting book so far. This summary of Erik Olin Wright also an excellent summarization of what I see as the typical/likely outcomes of choosing sexy revolutionary leftism over pedestrian electoral dem socialism.

Those celts on the rainy islands have long obsessed over extraterrestrial processions, most critically the sun's.

Exactly. Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be. The Constitution is popular with Americans.

And if you need polling, it's also true that these abductions are wildly unpopular on their own merit.
April 20, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Anyone suggesting this is obviously morally bankrupt, but also not a serious analyst of American politics
April 18, 2025 at 10:24 PM
Who is dumb enough to be a serious professional political analyst or campaign advisor and not immediately see this is a winning issue in the polls and also more importantly the right fucking thing to do?
April 18, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Absolutely right. This is indefensible and extremely unpopular.
April 18, 2025 at 10:17 PM
Sorry but this story isn't going away. This is fucking unamerican as hell and everyone is disgusted by it.

This overwhelming result from a sample of *financial news watchers* is a pretty staggering indication of how unpopular Trump's aspirations for Fed control really are

"The question of who has rights [...] is inseparable from our treatment of those on the margins of political life. The mere existence of a group of nonpersons threatens the freedom of those who live within the scope of concern [...]"
